Congratulations to the Iraqi men's soccer team for beating Portugal 4-2 in their opening round game of the 2004 Summer Olympics.
This is quite an accomplishment, considering this is the first game the Iraqis have played in the Olympics since 1988. Not to mention the terror that they have been subjected to for years at the hands of the Hussein regime in Iraq.
I didn't get a chance to watch the entire game, but what I did see was quite exciting.
This might be the Cinderella story of the entire games.
I hope this will serve as a unifying force for all Iraqis as they work to rebuild their nation.
