You can see from this satellite image that not only has Hurricane Ivan made landfall in Mobile, Alabama, but that the outer cloud bands of the storm are already over Kentucky.
The rain is forecast to begin sometime this afternoon, and is likely to continue throughout the weekend. I was going to supply a link to our local forecast at Yahoo Weather, but it is not responding. I wonder if their servers have been overwhelmed by requests for information on this storm?
Just looking at the radar imagery there, I can see that the rain is already knocking on our door. And the path projection map for Ivan shows it running pretty much straight over Kentucky.
I guess I can forget about taking a long walk this morning.
