Stand in the place where you live
Now face North
Think about direction
Wonder why you haven't before
Now stand in the place where you work
Now face West
Think about the place where you live
Wonder why you haven't beforeIf you are confused check with the sun
Carry a compass to help you along
Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you aroundSo, stand in the place where you live
Now face North
Think about direction
Wonder why you haven't before
Now stand in the place where you work
Now face West
Think about the place where you live
Wonder why you haven't before
Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you aroundIf wishes were trees the trees would be falling
Listen to reason
Season is calling

This morning I discovered the SelectSmart.com 2004 Presidential Candidate Selector, an online application designed to inform people about all the candidates running for U.S. President. It can also aid the voter in identifying a candidate that best reflects the voter's own political views.
Just answer a series of questions about issues facing the nation today and the selector will attempt to match you to a candidate.
I was pretty sure of how it would work out for me, but I was a bit surprised at how strongly it matched me to the candidate in question.
Here are my results:
- 1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%)
- 2. Badnarik, Michael - Libertarian (72%)
- 3. Bush, President George W. - Republican (53%)
- 4. Kerry, Senator John, MA - Democrat (37%)
- 5. Peroutka, Michael - Constitution Party (37%)
- 6. Cobb, David - Green Party (22%)
- 7. Nader, Ralph - Independent (22%)
- 8. Brown, Walt - Socialist Party (15%)

i was surprised to see the kerry count so high, but i wasn't all that surprised to be at least 3/4 behind the president. some stuff he espouses, i disagree with, but most of it is spot on.
