I was looking through my mother's old collection of recipes today and found this one that I remember her cooking. The finished dish will look like you worked harder than you did. It is super simple, and very good.
Crab Imperial
- 2 cups lump crab meat
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 TBS Dijon mustard
- 1 Tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 TBS chopped pimento
- ¼ cup minced green pepper
- Tabasco sauce to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ cup fine fresh bread crumbs
- 2 TBS butter, melted
Mix first eight ingredients and place in ramekins. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and drizzle 1 tsp of the melted butter over each.
Bake in a 350º oven for 20 minutes.
The recipe doesn't say how many servings this makes, but I think it should yield about 4 to 6 servings.
Bon Appétit!

So for those of us lazy bums, will canned crabmeat work? (Listen to me, I live near the ocean, sheesh).
