After a busy day wandering around Paris (we had visited the Louvre, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, and walked all through the Latin Quarter), Alison suggested we find a café somewhere and have something cold to drink.
We found a side street with a number of such establishments, but most of them were already pretty busy with no free sidewalk tables. And we really wanted to sit outside so we could people watch. We finally came upon one café that had a free table.
It was called Café Psycho. We both laughed when we saw the name as it made us think of my brother Mike's cat Psycho.
So we took the open table and ordered a couple of beers.
After a while another table closer to the building became available, and we moved there. It was the perfect spot to people watch, and to take candid photos of the other patrons and passers-by on the street.
Proof that we did, in fact, stop at Café Psycho.
This couple looked like they had been there for a while. They were still there when we left an hour or so later.
Our waiter. I have no idea what his name was, but we decided to call him Ethan.
The couple from the first picture, getting more comfortable. The other couple looked to be involved in some deep intellectual discussion. First date, no doubt.
This is the table we sat at when we first arrived. As soon as we moved, this group took our place. I'm not sure what they were drinking, but the drinks sure were colorful. And the plate of dolmas, and other snacks they had with their apéritif, really looked delicious.
And this is me using Alison's phone to call Mike from Café Psycho.

I love cafes and people watching. What a perfect combination!

Actually, I have been home for a couple of weeks, Beth.
These posts are retrospective in nature.
Between us, we took over 900 images.
