I have been in France for about 60 hours, so I guess it is about time I posted something.
I have to say is that it is like Ali and I have not been apart. It seems like I never left France to return to the States in April. It is amazing. I feel so at home here.
Today we took a long walk before lunch to return a rented DVD. On the way back, we ran into Harry and Kate, our British friends who own a vacation home here.
After lunch we headed up the street to Le Francais, a local café, where we had a cup of coffee. We hung out there for a couple of hours while Ali worked, proofreading and editing her brother's doctoral dissertation, and I read several chapters of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We sat outside, of course, as it was too beautiful of a fall day to stay inside.
When we'd had enough of that we then hopped in the car and headed to a nearby town to do a bit of sightseeing and shopping, including a stop for groceries on the way back.
Once back we returned to the café for a cold draught beer. Ali continued her editing and I read my book.
Several other of the local Brits were there having drinks, and we chatted with them a bit. After a couple of more hours of this, we were both pretty hungry, so after returning our books to the apartment, we went back to the café for dinner on the outdoor balcony.
The dinner was amazing for a fixed price menu. And very inexpensive for what we enjoyed. We pretty much closed the place, leaving at just before 11 p.m. As I type this, she is blogging a more complete description of our dinner.
Tomorrow we head to Rochefort, where Ali will attend an open house for a job fair and we will do some sightseeing.
It is late and I am about ready for bed. I will leave you with one more image. This is the fountain in the town square just out side the café. Ali took a picture of it back in April. It was cleaned up sometime this summer and looks much different than it did then.

It sounds wonderful. I hope you both enjoy every minute.

I'm just gonna say this once, K?
That France place is a blue state - a B-L-U-E State!
Are we all on the same page now?

Have a wonderful, wonderful time. Drink in every sight, smell, taste, and sound. Savor the moments.
And then blog them for us so that we can enjoy them too!

Now that is a day to share. These are the kind I could make a career of quite nicely, thankyouverymuch. ;-)
Enjoy your time together and may it pass slowly.
