The dining room furniture, that is.
I got a call on Wednesday night from an automated system at Arhaus Furniture telling me that it would be delivered sometime between noon and 4 p.m. today. Then the next day, the salesman who sold it to us called and left a message that it would most likely be delivered around noon.
So I stayed home waiting for it. At about 2 p.m. the Arhaus robot called back to tell me delivery had been rescheduled for between 4:45 and 6:30 p.m.
I decided to go out and take care of some shopping I needed to do. On my way to my first stop, I called the local store and talked to the salesman. I wanted to give him my cell number just in case they decided to arrive while I wasn't home.
He told me that they would be here at 6:15 so I need not worry.
Well, they arrived an hour early. It took them about 30 minutes to get it all off the truck, unpacked, moved into the house and assembled.
I added a few accessories to the room and took pictures. You can see them in the extended post.
I emailed Alison and sent her these pictures. I told her I wished she was here so we could dine at the table this evening. But the inauguration of our new dining room will have to wait a little bit longer.
I can hardly wait.

Yay!
It all looks great. I wish I were there.
But I guess the inauguration will have to wait, as you said.

Tell me about the top of that table. It's breathtaking!

That is truly gorgeous! I bet you have to go in there and admire it about every couple of minutes. Am I right? By the way, I read your response over at Karan's and are you SURE you don't know my husband? That was such an accurate comment that I just about fell off my computer chair.

V. V. Nice!!!! Your table is now screaming for some pieces from Pier One Imports. I love shopping for accessories there. And I can just picture beautiful raw silk drapes and cream colored sheers at the windows. On the walls, I'd paint it... OK, I'll shut up now and get out of Alison's yard. :-)

It's okay, Theresa. Suggestions are welcome, until the time we are actually doing the finishing touches. And then it'll be "Shut up, we live here, not you!" ;-p
