I was sitting at the computer and looked over at a picture stand that I had bought some time back at IKEA. It has a cubical plastic base with air bubbles trapped in it.
I though how much it looked like a star cluster as viewed through a telelscope.
So I grabbed the camera and took this image.
Taken with a Nikon D70 and a 105 mm f/2.8D AF Micro-Nikkor lens.
Exposure: 0.125 sec (1/8)
Aperture: f/40
Focal Length: 105 mm (157mm in 35 mm film)

B&W? Or did you catch the contrast right?

I converted it to black and white in Photoshop, although the change was quite subtle. The f40 aperature really sharpened the image as well as the contrast.
