Mr. Jones has been acting out the past few days. First, he urinated on one of the area rugs we just placed in the room in the basement we have turned into a rec room.
Then today, he urinated in an open suitcase in our bedroom. It contained some of Ali's clothes that she had yet to remove from our trip last weekend.
Between the renovation of that basement room, and our travel, I guess he has gotten his nose out of joint.
He is even madder now that he is banned from the basement. Prowling around down there in the dark in search of crickets and spiders had become a daily ritual for him. Maybe that is why he peed in the suitcase today.
We will probably allow him back down there when the kids are here.
I hope he takes to them. I imagine he will. He is not one to turn away attention.

I adore this photo of Mr. Jones. I like the way cats are very direct about telling you what they think of things. No "maybe" from a cat.

yeah, he's pissed about something, alright.
i haven't quite figured out what ferris is pissed about. he's decided urinating immediately outside the litterbox is acceptable behavior.
it isn't.
no idea why this is happening or what i can do to change his behavior.
anyway, mr. f.h. jones is gorgeous. maybe people haven't been fawning over him enough.

Mr. Jones might have a bladder infection or something equally devious. It might be a good idea to get him to the vet.

oh...a couple more thoughts...he might be smelling those wee kitties on you two and acting out because of that...the look on his face says so.
And...use "Nature's Miracle" on the pee...it gets the smells and stains (if there are any) out lickety split!

ditto to karen's comment. we bet he's not feeling too well.

He could also be sick. I had a cat once that would pee in odd places...I took her to the vet and she had a urinary tract infection...

The life of a cat is so difficult.

We have just had similar problems with Smokey Joe. Turns out he has a bladder problem. Good luck with his bad behavior.

Yep i vote for a vet visit. But he could be pissed at you too. It's so hard with these critters because when they're sick they act all pissed off. You never know what the hell is wrong. They really ought to invent cats that can talk. Wait...noooooooo. lol
