The second night of Bikram yoga wasn't any easier than the first. It kicked my ass.
But I was determined to do more tonight than I did during the first session. And I did.
Hopefully I will get to a point where I don't feel like a complete doofus.
Alison and I attended our first Bikram yoga session this evening. Ninety minutes in a room where the temperature was 105ºF and the humidity was 70%. And we did all 26 yoga poses. More than once.
I didn't do them all. I wasn't able to do several of them. I'm just not flexible enough for some of them. Yet.
And then there were a couple of times when I was almost overcome by waves of nausea. The teacher knew we were beginners, and knew when to tell us to just lie still on our mats.
We've been home for about a half hour now, and I am starting to feel like I am going to live. I feel like this is going to be beneficial, and I will be back there tomorrow evening to try it again.
UK lost to the Tennessee Volunteers today in the 4th overtime. The final score was 52-50.
I'm proud of the Cats. It was a hell of a game, a season to remember, and we will be going to a bowl.
But it would have been nice to beat Tennessee, because nothing sucks like a big orange.
Ali and I are staying home for Thanksgiving this year. It's our first time to do that. Last year we drove to Pittsburgh on Thanksgiving Day, and returned to Lexington the next day. In 2005, Ali came over from France for a week, and we celebrated the day at Jo Ann's house.
We decided it would be nice to start a new tradition this year.
We will be joined by Mike, his daughter Justine, and a couple of good friends. We will be dining on roast duck, dressing, green beans, country ham on yeast rolls, and more.
I want to thank everyone who reads and comments on my blog, and I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving.
Here is my gift to you this day.

Peace.
Alison and I will be heading to the polls to cast our votes in state-wide elections today. This is one election where I really feel like my vote matters and will make a difference. That hasn't happened a lot in the past 10 years or so.
The last time it felt like it mattered was the congressional elections last November. Unfortunately, the change that I thought my vote would help bring about didn't happen.
I hope I am not disappointed again.
