It's the eve of Christmas Eve. The kids are in bed. They crashed early tonight thanks to jet lag. Alison is wrapping their gifts in the dining room.
Our Christmas here will take place a day early this year. The kids will find their gifts beneath the tree when they awake in the morning, we will have a nice meal of roast chicken and all the extras. Maybe we will watch some movies together.
On Christmas day, we will load up the car, and head off to do it all again.
Having multiple celebrations of the holiday seems like a pretty sweet deal. And in any other year, I would think so. But this one is a hard one for me. It's really hard.

I never met her, but I know this about your sister. She would have wanted you to celebrate however you saw fit to do so. She lived by her own rules and so should you.
And as we say, time takes time. It will get easier. I hope you can lose yourself in the festivities. She would have wanted that for you.
*hugs*

bhd said it so well - that's about all there is to say.
Except Merry Christmas. Safe travels, and snuggly warm moments to you all.

i can imagine how bittersweet this holiday can be this year. but, the grace your sister had lives on through you. her spirit surrounding you will make certain of it.

I too had a few Christmases and it was hard for all of us, but I think mostly for me.
You and your family were on my mind everyday. I was sending happy thoughts. Hope you got them :)
As bhd said, your sister would want you to be happy. But as I know, you gotta let it out as it needs to. Next year will be better. I'm really glad all of you are close and enjoy spending time together. That's made all the difference in my life with my siblings too.
Merry Christmas Allan {Hug}
