An entire block of historic buildings in the center of Lexington is being torn down in the name of progress. To make way for a monstrosity of a phallic monument to the pathetic lives of two men.
And our mayor, who campaigned on a reform platform, sold out to these men, and made it impossible for anyone to stop this senseless destruction.
I am so disappointed in my city.
Right now, I wish I lived anywhere but here.
The bat was not rabid, thankfully.
One of these days I will fill you in on the full story.

My blog has been visited over 2000 times so far today. Almost all of those visitors have come from a Yahoo Image search on 'Miss Universe'.
I posted something relevant to that almost 4 years ago, and that is what they are coming to see.
Pervs.
It's really good to have my family home.
I can't remember the last time it rained all day on the 4th of July. But it looks like it is going to rain all day here. It might clear out by evening, but the radar and the forecast don't offer much hope.
I feel sure many of the planned festivities will go on, but I won't be downtown documenting the day with my camera.
It's just as well, I guess. It gives me a chance to shop for a birthday gift for Alison (yes, her birthday is Sunday, so don't forget to wish her a happy one), and for some other stuff we need before Ali and the kids get home tomorrow afternoon.
I hope your holiday is a dry, safe, and fun one.
